In 2010, the Faculty of Engineering at Symbiosis International University began offering Ph. D. research programs.
The Institute strives to provide high-quality technical education that meets the demands of today's competitive industry and rapid technological advancements. Accordingly, the Institute's curriculum emphasises on fundamentals and current advances. Furthermore, after recognising the importance of faculty, particular efforts have been made to discover, recruit, and retain highly qualified and competent professors.
The Institute, like all other Symbiosis Institutes, has invested in high-quality infrastructure, which includes multimedia classrooms, well-equipped labs with software for CAD/CAM, simulations, and other applications, a well-stocked modern library with digital media, an auditorium, seminar halls, separate hostels for boys and girls, and playgrounds.
The Institute creates an atmosphere that allows instructors and students to maximise their potential by systematically and effectively organizing and controlling the teaching-learning process within and outside the classroom systematically and effectively. Techfests, cultural programmes, sports competitions, industry-institute meetings, guest lectures by prominent people, and student exchange programmes with foreign universities are all used to complement the core teaching-learning process.
Nanyang Technological University Singapore, Ingolstadt University Germany, Purdue School of Engineering, IUPUI Indianapolis USA, and Leibniz University Hannover have worldwide student and teacher exchange connections.
SIT provides all students with a very educational and satisfying experience. Students' schedules feature an ideal balance of work, play, and leisure. The curriculum and pedagogy have been created in such a way that the teaching-learning process is both enjoyable and challenging.
Project-based learning, problem-based learning, and the option of elective studies of one's choice, even from outside the SIT curriculum, keep students engaged and motivated. Furthermore, activities such as the Week-long Induction Program, the Mentor-Mentee system, and the vital link between students and teachers keep students eager and motivated to learn. Year-round technical, athletic, and cultural events organised at the departmental, intra-institutional, and inter-institutional levels keep students motivated in their learning.
There are seven hostels in the Institute. There are three girls' blocks and four boys' blocks. The hostel rooms are big and well-ventilated, with plenty of natural light. Each room has its own bathroom and toilet. A steel cot, a study table and chair, and a mattress are provided to each student.
The Institute's placement and training cell is exceptionally well-organized. A seminar hall for conducting pre-placement talks, discussion rooms, interview rooms, and other necessary amenities are all part of the placement cell's infrastructure.
A large number of prestigious organisations visit the institute for campus recruitment, and the cell has strong ties with them. All final-year students are prepared for campus interviews through unique technical and soft-skills programs that will help them land prestigious employment.
SIT had an excellent placement season, with renowned firms from a variety of industries participating and awarding coveted positions to B.Tech and M.Tech students. Leading organisations from a variety of industries competed in the final placements, offering 'in-demand' profiles with competitive compensation packages.
A potent mix of recruiters from IT sectors and fast-growing start-ups made up the recruiter portfolio. Furthermore, a select few students were offered PPOs (pre-placement offers) by highly coveted firms for their outstanding performance throughout internships and prestigious corporate competitions.
Symbiosis has established its worldwide projects, in which students travel to prestigious universities throughout the world to study for a semester. Global Immersion Programme is the name given to this arrangement. Courses offered by a few carefully selected partner institutes abroad have been thoroughly researched. Their courses have been changed so that a student can choose courses that are similar to his typical Symbiosis courses. As a result, he can spend a semester at a university overseas and receive credit for the courses he completed there. The pupil is exposed to a global environment as a result of this setup.
The Global Immersion Program (GIP) allows students to spend a semester studying abroad.
Students in this program study for one semester at one of the following universities overseas, with the credit hours, earned being mutually recognised. The Institute uses the Cumulative Grade Point system, allowing credit transferability.
Economics, Business Studies, Media Studies, Sociology, English, Psychology, Political Science & Public Policy, Anthropology, Philosophy, and International Relations are just some of the subjects you can study.
The total intake of the program is 100, including international and special quota students.
