Our Programme

SIU announces the four-year degree programme with multiple entry and exit options as envisioned in the NEP 2020. The highlights of the new programme offerings are as under

• The Programme framework allows exciting options to pursue single major, double majors, minors, opportunity to pursue multidisciplinary, Ability and Skill enhancement courses
• Offers a good blend of immersive learning, research and community engagement
• Includes opportunities for semester exchange programmes with foreign universities
• Offers the following exit options a. A Certificate at the end of the first year of the programme with 44 credits b. A Dililoma at the end of the first two years of the programme with 84 credits c. A UG Degree at the end of 3 years of the programme with 120 credits d. A UG Degree with Honours / Research at the end of the 4 years of the programme with 160 credits
• Offers option of Re-entry within 3 years of exit and 7 years as the maximum permissible period to complete the programme.

PROGRAMME Outcome - B.B.A (INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY) - HONOURS / HONOURS WITH RESEARCH

• To build a strong foundation for IT, management and commerce concepts.
• To gain knowledge and build skills on tools and techniques for qualitative and quantitative analysis.
• To build skills to develop IT applications for business processes by applying software development life cycle.
• To develop analytical and communication skills along with creative thinking to provide the techno-management solutions for the problems in business, social and government sectors.
• To build an entrepreneurial mind-set.

CAREER PROSPECTS

BBA (IT) is a perfect blend of Commerce, Management and IT subjects heading for smart careers in Business Administration with IT flavor. The programme focuses on imparting IT and related methodologies for understanding and applying IT for business analysis.

1. Business analyst for areas like application software's requirement management, quality assurance, and process analysis.
2. Business administration under various Management functions like finance, marketing operations etc.
3. Preparing for PG programmes for higher studies in India or abroad in Management field
4. Entrepreneurship with a multidisciplinary approach.

PROGRAMME Outcome - B.C.A - HONOURS / HONOURS WITH RESEARCH

• BCA offers the prequalification for professionals heading for a smart career in the IT field, which measures up to international standards.
• This program provides the ability to analyze, design and code the software systems.
• An ability to understand the concepts of logic development, best software practices used in industry.
• An ability to understand and apply knowledge of content management system, mobile computing, computer game designing and cloud in the field of software development.

CAREER PROSPECTS

BCA offers the prequalification for professionals heading for a smart career in the IT field, which measures up to international standards. On completing this course one can do higher studies such as MCA, MBA etc., in any UGC recognized universities or in any other reputed institution in India or abroad.

BCA (Honours) with specialization will prepare students to progress their career in the software industry, academia, research, entrepreneurial pursuit and other Information technology enabled services in one of the areas in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, and Data security.

Eligibility

1. B.B.A. (Information Technology) - Honours / Honours with Research

Passed Standard XII (10+2) or equivalent examination from any recognised Board with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% marks or equivalent grade for Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribes).

Students who wish to opt for Honours with Research must earn 7.5 CGPA and above at the end of Semester-6 Eligibility Criteria for the Multiple entries would be as per University's Lateral Entry Rules for FYUG Programmes

2. B.C.A. - Honours / Honours with Research

Passed Standard XII (10+2) or equivalent government approved Diploma in Engineering/ Technology from any recognised Board with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% marks or equivalent grade for Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes).

Students who wish to opt for Honours with Research must earn a 7.5 CGPA and above at the end of the Semester-6. Eligibility Criteria for the Multiple entries would be as per University's Lateral Entry Rules for FYUG Programmes.
