INFRASTRUCTURE

  • Class rooms: SCMS has spacious classrooms with LCD projector, facility of collar mikes and a Public address system. Ours is a fully Wi-Fi enabled campus.
  • Computer Laboratory: The institute has a well-equipped computer laboratory, with LCD Projector and internet connectivity, to facilitate the teaching-learning process.
  • Library & Reading Room: Our Library houses some of the finest collections of management &course specific books, classics, fiction & non- fiction books, periodicals, journals, newspapers, CDs, DVDs, etc. The noteworthy feature is the digital library which enables access to e-journals, e-books and online databases and catalogs.
  • Students’ Interaction lounge: The Interaction lounge of our centre helps our students to interact freely with our faculty members and extend learning beyond the classroom.
  • Placement Cell: In order to carry out the placement related activities for the Third year students the college has constituted the Placement Cell.
  • Audio Visual Room and Conference Hall: For presentations by corporate representatives during conduct of workshop / for placement, or for presentations by faculty/staff we have Audio Visual Room. To conduct meeting / discussions a separate Conference Hall is available.
  • Indoor Games room: Indoor games like Table tennis, carom, chess, scrabble, etc. are available in the institute for the purpose of rejuvenating the students.
  • Outdoor sports facility: Outdoor sports facility for playing basketball, volleyball, football and cricket are available within our campus area.
  • Music room: A well- equipped music room with all modern wind and string instruments is available for use of our students.
  • Scrollers: Important information is disseminated to the students instantly through scrollers strategically positioned in all the floors.

CANTEEN, MESS, HOSTEL & CAMPUS FACILITY :

CAFETERIA

The campus houses a cafeteria that serves multi-cuisine food. Mess - The Campus has a mess which serves both vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian breakfast, lunch, evening snacks & dinner.

HOSTEL:

Hostel facility is available for girls as well as for boys with limited seats. Hostel has twin / triple sharing, well furnished rooms with Wi-Fi facility, hot and cold water facilities throughout the day, attached bath & toilets, generator backup, indoor games / recreations rooms with TV, guest rooms, housekeeping and round the clock security. Due to shortage of accommodation hostel is allotted on first come first serve basis. It is located within a radius of 1 km from the campus.

CONVENIENCE STORE :

The campus has an in-house convenience store for gaining access to necessities.

REPROGRAPHY CENTRE

The campus has a reprography center which helps students with supply of necessary stationery, photocopying and print out facilities.

GYMNASIUM :

The campus has a gym set up with all latest equipment.

HEALTH CARE CENTRE :

We have a health care center on campus with one doctor and medical staff. The students use this facility to undergo their health checkup every year.

ATM

Corporation Bank has set up an ATM in the campus for the facility of students, faculty and staff.

Café Coffee Day has installed an outlet in campus which besides coffee, serves snacks to students.

OUR PROGRAMME

B.B.A (Honours / Honours with Research)

SIU announces the four-year degree programme with multiple entry and exit options as envisioned in the NEP 2020. The highlights of the new programme offerings are as under

  • The Programme framework allows exciting options to pursue single major, double majors, minors, opportunity to pursue multidisciplinary, Ability and Skill enhancement courses
  • Offers a good blend of immersive learning, research and community engagement
  • Includes opportunities for semester exchange programmes with foreign universities
  • Offers the following exit options
    1. A Certificate at the end of the first year of the programme with 44 credits
    2. A Diploma at the end of the first two years of the programme with 84 credits
    3. A UG Degree at the end of 3 years of the programme with 120 credits
    4. A UG Degree with Honours / Research at the end of the 4 years of the programme with 160 credits
  • Offers option of Re-entry within 3 years of exit and 7 years as the maximum permissible period to complete the programme.

Passed standard XII (10+2) or equivalent examination from any recognised Board with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% marks or equivalent grade for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes)

Reservation of seats and fee concession for candidates domiciled in Nagpur:

A. Reservation for candidates domiciled in Nagpur: 25% (Twenty-five percent) seats are reserved for candidates domiciled in Nagpur.

Meaning of ‘Nagpur Domiciled’ Candidates for admission to PG and UG programmes:


PG programmes: ‘Nagpur Domiciled’ means persons, who are domiciled in Nagpur for a period of 5 (five) years as on the date of commencement of the academic year, and who have graduated from or are appearing for the qualifying examination of Nagpur University before admission to the programme.

Candidates applying under Nagpur quota will have to provide the domicile certificate provided by the Competent Authority and also the mark sheet of the last qualifying examination from Nagpur University to fulfill the eligibility norms. If at any time during the admissions process this information is proved to be incorrect, their admission shall stand liable to be cancelled irrespective of the stage the admission is in .

UG programmes: ‘Nagpur Domiciled’ means persons, who are domiciled in Nagpur for a period of 5 (five) years as on the date of commencement of the academic year, and who have passed or will be appearing for the qualifying examination of Class XII (or equivalent examination) conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations or the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)/ ICSE Board before admission to the programme.


This reservation for all programmes is qualified as follows:

  • Provided that these students should be selected on merit on the basis of the common entrance examination conducted by Symbiosis International (Deemed University) or any other competent authority in respect of the programmes offered by the university; and/or other components of the selection process as may be specified by the University.
  • Provided further that a reservation of 15% seats for SC, 7.5% seats for ST and 3% seats for differently abled candidates from Nagpur Domicile candidates will be provided within the 25% seats reserved for Nagpur Domiciled candidates.

In the event that any of the Nagpur Domicile Seats reserved pursuant to this sub- clause (ii) remain vacant such vacant seats shall be filled in the following manner:

  1. SC Seats:
    1. If the seats reserved for SC category of the ‘Nagpur Domiciled’ candidates remain vacant after exhausting wait list of SC category of the ‘Nagpur Domiciled’ candidates, such vacant seats shall be offered to SC category of Non- Nagpur Domiciled candidates in the wait list.
    2. If such seats still remain vacant, they shall be offered to the Open Category of the candidates who are ‘Nagpur Domiciled’
    3. If such seats even then remain vacant, they shall finally be offered to the Open Category of the candidates who are ‘Non- Nagpur Domiciled’
  2. ST Seats:
    1. If the seats reserved for ST category of the ‘Nagpur Domiciled’ candidates remain vacant after exhausting wait list of ST category of the ‘Nagpur Domiciled’ candidates, such vacant seats shall be offered to ST category of Non- Nagpur Domiciled candidates in the wait list.
    2. If such seats still remain vacant, they shall be offered to the Open Category of the candidates who are ‘Nagpur Domiciled’
    3. If such seats even then remain vacant, they shall finally be offered to the Open Category of the candidates who are ‘Non- Nagpur Domiciled’
  3. Differently Abled Seats:
    1. If the seats reserved for Differently-abled category of the ‘Nagpur Domiciled’ candidates remain vacant after exhausting wait list of Differently-abled category of the ‘Nagpur Domiciled’ candidates, such vacant seats shall be offered to the Differently- abled category of Non- Nagpur Domiciled candidates in the wait list.
    2. If such seats still remain vacant, they shall be offered to the Open Category of the candidates who are ‘Nagpur Domiciled’
    3. If such seats even then remain vacant, they shall finally be offered to the Open Category of the candidates who are ‘Non- Nagpur Domiciled’

B. Fee Concession:
SIU will provide a concession of 15% (Fifteen percent) on the Academic fees payable by the candidates referred to in paragraph A above. However, when the seats reserved for ‘Nagpur Domiciled’ candidates remain vacant; and are offered to ‘Non-Nagpur Domiciled’ candidates, such candidates shall NOT be entitled to the fee concession, being offered to the ‘Nagpur Domiciled’ candidates.

Definition of ‘Fees’ for the purpose of calculating the fee concession for ‘Nagpur Domiciled’ candidates

As per the Lease agreement with Nagpur Municipal Corporation, ‘Fee’ means the gross fees for admission, examinations, tuition and such other matters that may be levied on and payable by a user of the Project (student) from time to time in accordance with applicable law and the norms laid down by the University Grants Commission, and shall exclude payments which are in the nature of fines and penalties, and/or which are due in respect of accommodation, mess/catering, caution money (if refundable), entrance tests or application forms.

Documents to be submitted by candidates applying through Nagpur category :

  1. All aspirants must furnish the 'Nagpur Domicile Certificate' showing that the candidate has lived in Nagpur for five years as on the date of commencement of the Programme. This certificate will be issued by the Revenue Department of Government of Maharashtra.
  2. In addition to this they will have to furnish one of the two given below: For those who have passed the qualifying examination: the Passing Certificate of Class XII of Maharashtra State Board or equivalent from a school from Nagpur / Degree from any Institute / University in Nagpur. They should have scored 50% or above in the qualifying examination or as specified by the Council (if any).
  3. For those who are appearing for the qualifying examination, a bonafide certificate from the college/school may be provided.
