Introduction
The Symbiosis School of Economics (SSE) was set in motion with the introduction of the undergraduate programme – B. Sc. (Economics) in 2008. Presently at its fledgling stage, SSE aspires to create its mark as a leading institution in Economics and related interdisciplinary research. While our first batch graduated in June 2011, we have introduced M.Sc. (Economics), offering specializations in International Trade and Development Studies, as well as, three Certificate courses in the fields of Quantitative Economics, Capital Markets (with National Stock Exchange) and Corporate Social Responsibility. The Symbiosis School of Economics (SSE) seeks to develop intellectual discipline and valuable skill sets required for rational thinking and optimal decision making. The course has been designed with an inclination towards - Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Law, Environment and Politics integrated with Economics. With its interdisciplinary flavour it will prepare students for post graduation courses in Law, Journalism, Business, Public Policy and Economics and also provide them with career opportunities in various industries, financial institutions, media and communication, government, research and academia. The environment here is disciplined and rigorous, at the same time giving plenty of scope for creativity, originality and student initiatives.
Vision
To provide 'the' environment for an incredible educational experience and to evolve into a major research & consultancy centre - creating a difference in a civilized society.
Mission
Symbiosis School of Economics will be known for rigorous applied economic analysis relating to real world issues of social relevance.
