Symbiosis Institute of Technology is located at Lavale on the foot hills in Symbiosis Knowledge Village which also houses Symbiosis International University. The State-of-the art infrastructure includes spacious classrooms with multimedia, well-equipped laboratories, auditorium, seminar rooms, amphi-theatre, conference rooms, canteen and common rooms for students, well-constructed spacious hostels with all necessary amenities, playgrounds, gymnasium, facilities for indoor games like TT, squash, badminton, billiards and a food court, all with round-the-clock power supply. Besides the well developed infrastructure, the pleasant weather of Pune makes stay in the campus, comfortable and conducive for learning. |

The institute has a very well-organized placement cell. The infrastructure in the placement cell includes a seminar hall for conducting pre placement talks, discussion rooms, interview rooms etc. Students of the first batch passed out in June 2012 with good placements renowned companies like Symantec, Barclay's, Infosys Technologies, Synechron, Persistent, Syntel, Atos Origin, Forbes Marshall, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bosch, Marathon Electric, Kirloskar, and Alfa Laval, Thermax, Lohia Starlinger, Viraj , Fenesta ,Indian Army, Sokrati, Mu Sigma, Pubmatic, Act Television,Thermo Fischer, CRF Global and Fenesta.
Method of Instruction
The institute employs a very effective and interactive teaching-learning process using the most recent teaching aids including multimedia. The curriculum has been developed considering the present and future needs of industry and higher education. Teachers prepare detailed blow ups, lab manuals and course files to ensure the effectiveness of teaching-learning process. A salient feature of the curriculum is a six month project semester, totally devoted to carry out projects in the industry. Students of all under graduate programs spend six months in the industry, other organizations, renowned institutions and universities, both in India and abroad, as a part of their curriculum. They are encouraged to take up projects in various areas of the industry to augment their theoretical learning. The emphasis during the ‘Project Semester’ is to expose students to real life problems in their chosen field of work and finding their solutions, using a systematic and logical approach employing latest tools, techniques and technologies.
All students of SIT can opt for and qualify a special Diploma in Business Management from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, a premiere Institute of Management in the country. This arrangement gives students an insight into basic functions of management like marketing, finance, human resource and operations, in addition to polishing their communication and interpersonal skills.
Profile of Past Students
The first batch of B.Tech. students passed out in 2012. About 80% of the eligible students opted for campus placements and got them. They are now the proud employees of reputed companies like Infosys, Synechron, Atos, Mahindra and Mahindra, Kilosker brothers, Forbes Marsha, Marathon electrical, Pubmatic, Symantec, Indian Army, Indian Navy, Persistant, Mu Sigma, Astadia and so on. About 20 students are pursuing their higher studies on India or abroad. The Alumni Association maintains a data of the pass out students and remains in regular contact with them.
Career Prospects
Students of SIT benefit from special programs on entrepreneurship, liberal arts and acquiring soft skills necessary to succeed in the future. These programs, along with rigorous technical education and regular interactions with industry through internships and projects, place them at a distinct advantage when they enter the job market. SIT can boast of an excellent placement record with our students being places in companies like Infosys, Mahindra and Mahindra, Persistent, Kirloskar Brothers Ltd, amongst many others. With six-month internships and other initiatives the contact with the industry has considerably increased. This will result in better career prospects.

Indian Students
i) Passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from any statutory board with 60% (55% for SC/ST candidates) aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM).
ii) Good score in any entrance examination like SET (Symbiosis Entrance Test) or JEE-Main or MHCET conducted in 2013
iii) Foreign Nationals /Non Resident Indians-Passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from any statuary board with 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM)

Symbiosis Entrance Test 2013: Sat. 4th May 2013.
The admission of the eligible candidates to B.Tech. program of the institute will be based on merit in (SET, JEE-Main, AIEEE or MHT-CET) through open counseling, in which the candidate has to be physically present on the date of counseling along with his/her original certificates. The details of the counseling procedure and documents required will be made available on the institutes website.

All the above dates have been decided based on the announced dates of the respective entrance exams and declaration of their results. However, the counseling dates are liable to change as a result of a change in the date of entrance exams and/or declaration of results.
