  • SIHS is beneficiary of the various MOUs signed between SIU & national and international academic institutions like Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI), Georgia State University (GSU), USA; Chest Research Foundation, Pune; Serum Institute of India, National Aids Research Institute, Pune; Centre for Rheumatic Diseases, Galaxy CARE Laparoscopy Institute, Pune, to promulgate cooperation between the institutes to promote educational research intercultural competence and understanding. The partnership provides opportunities for research through collaborative research projects, conducting conferences, PhD student's deputation, continued guidance to students and faculty, and student visits to their campus for learning and conducting projects.

  • The Post Graduate Diploma in Emergency Medical Services (PGDEMS) programme is recognized by the Los Angeles Paramedic Training Institute, USA.

  • Recently PGDEMS programme of Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences (SIHS) is recognized by Saudi Commission of Health Specialties. Many of our alumni are placed overseas.

  • The American Heart Association (AHA), USA has conferred upon the institute, the coveted title of an International Training Center (ITC). It is also a recognized “Chapter” of the International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) Organization, USA. This is recognized by the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), USA. Recently SIHS is recognized as approved site for conducting - Advanced Trauma Life Support® (ATLS®) - India Program Course of American College of Surgeons.

  • Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) has accredited SIHS to conduct CME programs/ workshops/ seminars etc. By virtue of this coveted status, faculty and delegates participating in workshops organized by SIHS will be honored by credits hours from MMC.

  • Maharashtra Emergency Medical Services (MEMS) is a project of the Government of Maharashtra- Department of Health, State Health Society under National Rural Health Mission (NRHM). This project will be operational in Public Private Partnership (PPP) with Bharat Vikas Group (BVG) India Ltd., Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences (SIHS) and United Kingdom Specialist Ambulance Services (UKSAS). Its aim is to provide free emergency medical service to entire population in the state of Maharashtra. In the entire MEMS project SIHS will be academically associated exclusively for training & will not be responsible for ERC or any other operational matter. On 28th June, 2013 Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences (SIHS) and BVG India signed MOU of academic association and project was officially launched on 01st March, 2014.

  • SIHS is also member of Healthcare Sector Skill Council (HSSC) constituted by National Skill Development Corporation and is affiliated with HSSC as a recognized training institute.

  • Recently SIHS has signed MoU with International Health & Safety Training Centre (IHSTC), Dubai, UAE for conduction ITLS: Advanced Trauma Courses at IHSTC, Dubai, UAE.

SIHS has a splendid learning resource center with over 3896 books, 07-Journals, 16 Magazines (Print Only), 880 CD, 48 DVDs periodicals and reports. Services included are; Reading Services, Online database Services, Reference Services, Home Lending Services, Photocopy Services, WI-Fi facility, WEB-OPAC, Emerald, EBSCO, J-STORE and SCOPUS databases are available.

Symbiosis Centre for Health Skills (SCHS) is a multidisciplinary educational facility that strives to provide high-tech simulated and virtually created hospital set-up for teaching, training & assessment for all health care professionals in clinical and related management skills.

Wi – Fi campus:

Students at SIHS are privy to a Wi-Fi campus. The Wi-Fi campus enables the students to get on-line anywhere on campus without the hassle of wires and plug-ins. The campus, truly, is the high tech face of the new-age SIHS.

The in-house facilities include a 567-seater modern auditorium and a modern conference hall located at Symbiosis Vishwabhavan.

An all day on campus Mess and Cafeteria ensures refreshments for busy minds.


For outstation students (Ladies& Gents) accommodation can be arranged at the Symbiosis Hostel on first come first serve basis.

Healthcare Facilities:

Symbiosis Centre of Health Care (SCHC): Health and wellness are vital issues related to the academic success of students at Symbiosis. Symbiosis Centre of Health Care, the in-house health care center for the entire Symbiosis family has made a conscientious effort towards the overall development of its staff and students by providing preventive and health promotion programs to enhance optimal health, reduce risk of diseases and injury and promote healthy lifestyle choices. The SCHC, through its daily activities looks after the prevention, control and surveillance of health problems amongst students.

Outdoor and Recreation Facilities:

In-house ultra modern health clubs and recreation and wellness centers have also been established at all SCHC campuses to facilitate holistic development of mind and body of students. Training facilities for strength, endurance, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness, Yoga and meditation are provided through customized capsules suited to the unique requirement of the student population in conformity with their academic curriculum.

Objective: As technology advances and better investigative and treatment options are introduced, the need for professionals equipped to handle newer diagnostic modalities are on the rise. The ever changing & ever expanding horizon of the health care sector demands formal training programmes in all its allied areas. The diagnostics sector, today is witnessing a tremendous growth in terms of volume and sophistication. With increasing advances and super specialization, the scope for tomorrow’s technologists does not remain limited to just routine tests. Advanced complex instrumentation & equipment require technocrats not only to operate but also to care & maintain them as well. These experts have to possess a strong scientific foundation & be able to perform at a much higher level than the traditionally trained technicians of the past. The programme offers specializations in the following areas:-

Cardiac Care Technology: The Cardiac Care Technologist is responsible for direct and indirect patient care, haemo-dynamic monitoring, equipment set up and operation. They assist the physician during cardiac procedures and assume responsibility for completion of other cardiac lab functions.

Respiratory Therapy: The Respiratory Therapist is a key member of the medical team, specializing in diagnostics, treatments and procedures in the care of patients with respiratory problems. They evaluate, treat, and care for patients with breathing disorders.

Dialysis Technology: Dialysis Technologists operate machines that remove waste and excess fluids from the blood of patients whose kidneys can no longer carry out those functions satisfactorily. The programme is designed to provide competencies & technical skills necessary in the field of dialysis.

Imaging Sciences Technology: Imaging Sciences Technologists are health professionals who facilitate diagnosis and management through the creation of medical imaging modalities like X-ray, Ultrasound, Magnetic Resonance and Computed Tomography.

Clinical Lab. Technology: Clinical Lab. Technology is concerned with the analysis of biological specimens to support diagnosis and treatment of disease. Laboratory Technologists perform a full range of laboratory tests, the information of which influences the medical treatment a patient will receive.

Operation Theatre and Anesthesia Technology: The Operation Theatre and Anaesthesia Technologist is responsible for direct and indirect patient care, equipment set up, Pre, Intra & Post operative procedures.

Medium of Instruction:

The medium of Instruction for all the courses shall be English.

Eligibility Criteria

Std. XII Pass with any two of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Mathematics OR equivalent as decided by competent authority.

Working Professionals:

For the candidates who have educational qualification and work experience in above mentioned specializations, admissions will be given directly to 2nd year subject to approval of the SIU.

Through Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) and Personal Interview & Written Ability (PI-WAT)
