Introduction:
Symbiosis College of Nursing was established in the year 2007 with the aim to create leaders in the
nursing professionals by providing unique, innovative programmes that are responsive to the market
needs. Symbiosis College of Nursing is a constituent college of Symbiosis International University
which is also recognized by Indian Nursing Council & Maharashtra Nursing Council.

Health Care facilities
Symbiosis Centre of Health Care (SCHC) is the in-house Health Care
unit exclusive to the staff and students of the various institutes of Symbiosis. SCHC has a
team of specialist doctors who conduct the compulsory annual checkup. Each student is
insured under Medi – Claim and Road Traffic Accident Policy.
Fitness Facilities
SCHC provides an in-house, modern, health and fitness centre with a
view to facilitate a holistic development of mind and body for an all round development of our
students at each Symbiosis campus. Training facilities for strength, endurance, flexibility and
cardio vascular fitness including Yoga and Meditation is provided in customized capsules
suited to the unique requirements of student population in confirmation with their academic
curriculum.
Library
SCON has a splendid Learning Resource Centre with over 20,000 books, reports,
journals, periodicals, CDs and video cassettes.
Computer Lab
The computer lab with broadband connectivity to the internet and intranet,
boasts of 120 Pentium IV computers with exclusive lease lines.
Wi- Fi Campus
Students at SCON are privy to a Wi-Fi campus. The Wi-Fi campus enables
students to get on-line anywhere on campus without the hassle of wires and plug-ins. The
campus, truly, is the high tech face of the new age SCON.
Classrooms
All lecture classrooms are well ventilated and equipped with the latest
audiovisual facilities.
Auditorium
The in-house facilities include a 600 seater modern auditorium and a modern
conference hall located at Symbiosis Vishwabhavan.
Mess and Cafeteria
An all day mess and cafeteria ensures refreshments for busy minds.

- Principles and Practices of Management and Medico-legal issues offered to the graduate
students during the four/ two year programmes.
- American Heart Association (AHA) recognized Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac
Life Support (ACLS) courses.
- Advanced Trauma Course of International Trauma Life Support Organization, USA.
- Integrated Disaster Management.
Eligibility Criteria: B. Sc. Nursing
- The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31
st
Dec. of the year of
admission.
- The minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of – Higher Secondary school
certificate Examination (12 years course), OR Senior School certificate Examination (10+2),
OR pre-degree Examination (10+2), OR An equivalent with 12 years schooling from a
recognized board or university with science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English with
minimum of 45% aggregate marks (PCBE).
- Further 5% relaxation is permitted to SC/ST students.
- Candidates shall be medically fit.

Method of Instruction
The interactive teaching learning method is adopted. Both lectures & demonstrations are used for
basic training & group discussions & other innovative teaching methodology is also adopted.
Career prospects etc.
There are many career opportunities for nurses and the number of nurses
needed is only projected to increase as the population ages. Nurses are in demand in a variety of
specialties and work settings in India & Abroad. About three out of every five nursing jobs are in the
inpatient and outpatient departments of hospitals.
