Vision
Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication [SIMC] vision is to develop the personality of aspiring media professionals to carve a niche for themselves in the industry. Leadership in every sector of post-graduate media and communication, including on-the-job training, Initiating high-quality education and pioneering major social and developmental communication initiatives are what the institute offers to its students ,which proves beneficial to them in the long run.

Infrastructure
Mind Rooms
All classrooms at SIMC are air-conditioned with proper acoustics. They are equipped with an LCD projection and Dolby 7.1 sound system.
Audio/Visual Studio
The Audio/Visual Studio is equipped with a Production Control Room and a Post-Production Suite.

Library
A favorite haunt of the intellectual as well as the fleeting reader, the library houses several thousand books on all conceivable subjects under the broad umbrella of media communication & management. Some such subjects include print media, broadcasting, advertising, marketing, communication research, public relations, radio and television, film, information technology and traditional media.

Still Photography Studio
The photo studio is a shutterbug's manna with facilities that make it an ideal place to foster both photographic and photojournalistic talent.

Computer Laboratory
At SIMC, students can keep a finger on the pulse of the World Wide Web through the computer lab. The lab helps students leverage the power of Information Technology to help in research, give life to creative ideas and much more.

Canteen: A canteen functions on the campus and provides wholesome breakfast, lunch and dinner. Students have a choice of South Indian, Punjabi, Chat and health food options which include a fresh fruit juice bar, Facilities for photocopying & multicolor printing are also available on campus.
Health Club: To enhance the physical, mental and spiritual strength of each student, the Symbiosis Society has set up a health club which houses a well equipped gymnasium, yoga and aerobics centre.

Hostel : Furnished hostel facilities available for girls at New Girls Symbiosis Hostel, Viman Nagar, on first come first served basis. Allotment of rooms is done by the Symbiosis Society. SIMC also assists students in securing accommodation outside the campus.

Programme offered
Under-Graduate Course : SIMC expects to initiate an Under-Graduate programme in Media Studies (Bachelors of Media Studies) from the next academic year, commencing 2008, at its existing Viman Nagar campus. The full-time programme will be spread over a period of three years, and spaced out over six semesters, incorporating lectures, tutorials, assignments and practical sessions.
Method of Instruction: SIMC's method of instructing its students in both the theoretical and practical aspects of mass communication has produced students who not only excel academically but also respond swiftly to professional challenges.

10+2 in any discipline with 50% aggregate are eligible. Applicants expecting their XII results may apply. Their admission will be provisional and subject to furnishing proof of passing with 50%. Failure to furnish proof shall render their admission null and void.
Intake and Admission Process: A total of 120 students shall be admitted to the first course of Bachelor in Media Studies (BMS) to commence in 2008.

- Handicapped students: 3% (of 240)
- Management Quota: 15% (of 240)
